NBA Team Picker
All 30 NBA teams, one hoop each. Choose which teams are on the rack, then take the shot — a couple rim out, and then one drops clean through. Whichever hoop it goes through is your team.

Which hoop does it drop through?
Which teams are on the rack?
Tap a team to keep its hoop on the rack — all 30 fit at once. Drop it to one conference, one division, or your own shortlist.
A random NBA team, decided by one shot
The NBA Team Picker draws one of all 30 franchises at random — but instead of a wheel, you get a shot at the rim. Every team is a hoop. The shooter dribbles up, takes aim, and the ball clangs off a rim or two before one drops clean through. Whichever hoop it goes through is your team, and you decide how many shots it takes to get there.
How it works
Choose the teams
All 30 have a hoop by default. Tap teams off to run one conference, one division, or your own shortlist.
Set the shots
The slider picks how many shots the run takes — one drops straight in, five means four rim-outs first. It changes the drama, never the odds.
Take the shot
The shooter dribbles, settles and shoots. A miss clangs off the rim and tumbles away, and the ball comes back for another go.
One drops
A shot goes clean through. That board lights up and grows forward with the full team name — no popup unless you ask for one.
All 30 teams, by conference and division
Every franchise has a hoop. Switching whole divisions off is the quickest way to run a narrower draw — tap the ones you want and the odds stay even across whatever is left.

Why the whole league matters
A team randomiser is only useful if it can actually return any team. Plenty of them quietly carry a dozen big-market clubs, which means the Grizzlies, the Magic and the Hornets can never come up — and those are exactly the picks that make the exercise interesting.
The point of a random team is the team you would not have chosen. If a picker only ever hands you the Lakers, the Celtics and the Warriors, it is not randomising anything — it is just agreeing with you.
The same logic applies to the shots themselves. A miss can land on any hoop, can hit the same one twice, and can even rim out of the hoop the ball later drops through — because a sequence that never does those things is a script, not a random one.
Why a shot, not a wheel
A wheel cannot miss. A pointer slides to a stop and the outcome was never in doubt at any point — there is no moment where it could go either way. That is the difference: a shot can rim out. Every attempt is a real question, and the answer only arrives when the ball actually drops.
It also puts the whole league on screen while it happens — 30 hoops, any of which could be the one — and it is the sport itself rather than an office ritual. The randomness underneath is identical to a wheel's; the jeopardy is what makes it worth watching.
Ways to use it
NBA 2K and MyTeam
Draw a random team for a franchise run or a play-now challenge. Narrowing to one conference makes for a decent season-long constraint.
Fantasy draft order
Assign teams, set a draft order, or settle who gets first pick without anyone accusing the commissioner of favouritism.
Picking a team to follow
New to the league, or want a second team for the season? Let the board decide and commit to it for 82 games.
Bar and classroom bets
Hand everyone a random team for the playoffs. The hoops reshuffle every run, so nobody can claim a rigged spot.
About the artwork
There are no club crests, logos or wordmarks anywhere on this page. Those are protected marks, and everything on this site is original. Each team appears as its name on its own team colour — a colour is a fact, not a protected mark, and nothing here imitates a real crest.
