Cookie Policy
Effective date: August 27, 2026
What Cookies Are & How We Use Them
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser; localStorage is a similar browser feature for slightly larger data that never leaves your device by itself. Wheel Spin Pro uses a deliberately small set of both. We use them for three things only: keeping you signed in, remembering your preferences, and — with your consent — measuring site usage.
For the full picture of how this data fits into our processing, see the Privacy Policy.
Complete Inventory
| Name | Type | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
ci_session |
Cookie | Wheel Spin Pro | Strictly necessary. Keeps you signed in and carries the security token that protects forms from cross-site request forgery. | 2 hours |
remember |
Cookie | Wheel Spin Pro | Only set if you tick “remember me” when signing in, so you are not asked again on your next visit. | Until it expires or you sign out |
site_theme |
localStorage | Wheel Spin Pro | Remembers whether you chose light, dark, system or high-contrast. | Until you clear it |
ga_consent |
localStorage | Wheel Spin Pro | Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics, so you are only asked once. | Until you clear it |
wsp_zen_mode |
localStorage | Wheel Spin Pro | Remembers whether you last used a picker in distraction-free fullscreen. | Until you clear it |
wsp_autosave::* |
localStorage | Wheel Spin Pro | A working draft of the entries you typed into a tool, so a refresh does not lose them. One key per tool type. | Until you clear it |
wheelItems, wheelTitle, spinSettings |
localStorage | Wheel Spin Pro | The wheel you currently have set up — its entries, title and spin settings. | Until you clear it |
winners_history_* |
localStorage | Wheel Spin Pro | Your recent results on a given tool, so the “previous winners” list survives a refresh. One key per tool. | Until you clear it |
loadListId, loadConfigId |
localStorage | Wheel Spin Pro | Signed-in users only: which saved list or saved configuration to open next. | Until you clear it |
wsp_spin_count, wsp_migration_prompted |
localStorage | Wheel Spin Pro | A local count of spins on this device, and a flag so a one-time prompt is not repeated. Neither is sent to us. | Until you clear it |
wsp_support_dismissed, wsp_pwa_dismissed, wsp_ad_anchor_dismissed |
sessionStorage | Wheel Spin Pro | Remembers that you closed the support button, the install prompt, or an advert, so it does not reappear during this visit. | This visit only |
_ga, _ga_* |
Cookie | Google Analytics | Measures how the site is used, in aggregate. Only set after you accept analytics — decline and Google Analytics is never loaded at all. | Up to 2 years |
We do not use any other tracking pixels, fingerprinting scripts, or third-party data brokers.
Which of These Actually Run on Your Visit
Most of the list above is conditional. On a first visit to a picker page, while
you are signed out and before you answer the consent banner, the only things
set are the ci_session cookie and whichever preference keys the
page needs to remember your theme and your entries. Nothing else is created
until you do something that requires it.
- Sign in and the
remembercookie may be added, along with the saved-list keys. - Accept analytics and Google Analytics loads and sets its own cookies. Decline and it is never requested.
- Use a tool and its autosave and results keys appear, on your device only.
We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles, we do not sell any of this data, and none of the browser-storage keys above are transmitted to us — they are read by the page you are on and nothing else.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Because analytics here is opt-in rather than opt-out, a browser sending a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal gets the outcome those signals ask for by default: nothing is measured unless you have actively accepted. Declining, or simply never answering the banner, means Google Analytics is never loaded.
Changes to This Policy
This page is updated whenever the set of cookies or storage keys changes — for example if a new tool stores a preference. The effective date at the top of the page reflects the last such change. Material changes that affect consent will be surfaced on the site rather than made quietly here.
Managing & Withdrawing Consent
- Analytics — decline the consent banner and GA4 never loads. To withdraw consent later, clear this site's data in your browser settings; the banner will ask again.
- Personalised ads — manage at Google Ads Settings or opt out broadly at aboutads.info.
- All cookies — every modern browser lets you block or delete cookies per site (usually under Settings → Privacy → Site data). Blocking our first-party cookies only affects sign-in and saved preferences; the wheels still work.
- Autosave — use the "Start fresh" option shown when a wheel is restored, or clear site data.
